  • Yesterday's record lap keeps Checa ahead
    Carlos ChecaCarlos Checa (Althea Racing) relied on his record-breaking time of 1'55.232, set on Friday, to lead the combined qualifying lists, before the top 20 riders move on to Superpole this afternoon.


    BMW's Troy Corser remains second in the ranking, although he improved his previous best, while former Nürburgring race winner Noriyuki Haga is now third.


    Ten Kate Honda man Jonathan Rea set a top four time on a circuit he too has won at in the past. Championship challengers Leon Haslam and Max Biaggi were ninth and tenth respectively, the Aprilia man thrown off his RSV4 machine at high speed.

  • Telemadrid to broadcast World Superbike
    Telemadrid logoA new agreement has been signed between Infront Motor Sports and Spanish broadcaster Telemadrid for the remaining rounds of the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship.


    Telemadrid is the first autonomous public television station of Madrid and the fifth national station, after those of Catalonia, Euskadi, Galicia and Andalusia. It has been affiliated with FORTA (Spain's Federation of Regional Organizations of Radio and Television) since its inception, and is a public channel that belongs exclusively to the autonomous government of Madrid. It began broadcasting on May 2, 1989, in Madrid. Since then, the programming has been dominated by educational programs directed towards the population of that region.


    They will broadcast the Superbike races of the last 3 rounds of the championship in full, as well as the Superpole qualifying session, starting from this weekend.

  • Moser the fastest in first qualifying at home race
    Marc MoserLocal rider Marc Moser (Sport-Evolution Triumph) was a popular early pace setter in Superstock 600, leading regular Yamaha competitors Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Racing) and Romain Lanusse (MRS Racing) in the top-three battle.


    The leader enjoyed an impressive 0.761 second advantage over Guarnoni at the end. Joshua Elliott (Racedays Kawasaki) took a top four placing, ahead of Dutchman Tony Covena (Econocom Yamaha).

  • Kenan conquers on the first day

    Kenan SofuogluWorld Championship leader Kenan Sofuoglu (HANNspree Ten Kate Honda) set a 1 minute 59.276 seconds lap on the first day of competitive action in Germany, but Spanish rider David Salom (ParkinGO BE1 Triumph) was only 1/1000th of a second behind.


    Silverstone podium finisher Gino Rea (Intermoto Czech) went third on his Honda, and Katsuaki Fujiwara (Kawasaki Motocard.com) fourth on the official Ninja ZX-6R.


    Championship challenger Eugene Laverty (Parkalgar Honda) was fifth. One more qualifying session remains to determine final grid positions.
